GAMESTER PRESS RELEASES A Londonderry teenager has scooped first prize in a national UK design competition, bagging himself over £2000 worth of video games consoles and peripherals, in conjunction with Radica, Gamesmaster magazine, and GAME. Kyle Patterson aged 13 of Edlinton, County Londonderry, grabbed the first prize of an Xbox, Game Cube, PS2 and Game Boy Advance along with over £1000 of Gamester peripherals in a competition to design a wacky games controller, run by Gamester in association with Gamesmaster magazine. The competition attracted over 500 entries and was judged by a panel of gaming experts. "The response to this competition was phenomenal, with entries of a very high standard" commented Geoff House, Head of Design at Radica UK Ltd, manufacturers of the Gamester range " we had a fantastic time judging and were very impressed by the amount of time, effort and imagination that was spent coming up with some outrageous ideas. Kyle's design contained a host of crazy functions and we believe that he is a truly worthy winner " Kyle's winning design entitled "The Spherepad" contains a range of features including a nose picking machine, hamster that turns a generator for electricity, a boxing glove that pops out and punches you, a dartboard and a fridge. Kyle will be collecting his prize from GAME in Londonderry on January 22nd at 4pm.
